Lillian Windsor (Winzig)
Carnegie Hall - Live Performance
February 19, 1954
The recordings below are of this concert given by my great aunt, Lillian "Lilly"
Winzig (performing as Lillian Windsor), at Carnegie Hall in 1954. The recordings
were originally made on reel-to-reel, transferred to "high quality"
tape cassette, and then later transferred to audio CD. From there we saved copies
in raw WAV formats, as well as several MP3 formats, including the version provided
below (128kbps/VBR). The picture at left was the photo used in the playbill
and program for the concert (click for larger
version).
My aunt Lilly still resides in Hawthorne, NY, operating the Winzig's
Delicatessen, which has been open for 95 years!
My dad (Francis T. "Tommy" Winzig) and I (Thomas Winzig) will add
more information as we can compile it.
After 5 years, we've now been able to track down the complete list of pieces performed, noted below! The prologue and epilogue tracks contain more information
about my aunt and this performance, as recorded by my great uncle, Francis F.
J. Winzig, before he died.
